Question!

Okay, I've never done this before but I'm pretty much screwed on tours when it comes to merch because my date is so late in the tour.

Is anyone willing to pick up a certain merch item for me? I'll send you the money for it and everything?

Merch report

So the AP Tour kicked off tonight in Dallas. The set list went (sort of) as follows:
-Take My Hand
-Risky Business
-New Song
-Vegas Skies
-One of Those Nights
-Bounce
-I'll Run
I remember pretty well what all was played, as well as what the first, third (NEW ONE), and last were, so forgive other inconsistencies with order. =P

Also, new merch! )

SXSW

Yesterday's show was absolutely amazing. I was on the left side of the stage in front of Devin and when he came onstage I asked him if I could have the setlist after the show and he said he would give it to me, and during "Fixed at Zero" Sierra pointed to my friend and I, because we knew the lyrics, to sing the next part ("theres a vulture...") as loud as we could. After the song Sierra said something along the lines of "I can't believe you guys looked up the lyrics to that." Definitely one of the best moments of my life. After the show I got the band to sign my setlist and Devin finally signed my shirt.

very crappy webcam photo of the setlist that lj messed up even more when I uploaded it. )

I'll try and post some pictures/videos soon.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone has an extra ticket to the Chicago show for April 10th. I just would like one ticket, and I'll pay you for whatever charges you paid for the ticket. If you find one anywhere, like Craigslist or know a friend, please contact me! I am really desperate to go.

My email is: cabulous.sarah@gmail.com

Please let me know if you know of an extra ticket anywhere. Thanks in advance!

New song!

The boys debuted a new song last night at SXSW! You pretty much can't hear the lyrics at all in this video (I'll keep my eye out for a better one) but you get the music.

What do you think??

SPECIALS >>>
FRONT & CENTER: THE NEW CLASS OF ’10
Sure, band singers usually get the most attention, so why stop now? We caught up with a dozen up-and-coming frontmen (and lady), and had them take time out from their vocal warm-ups to pose for a photo special. Pin these pics on your wall, then head out to see them in action on various tours and festivals this spring and summer.

Mindreader

VersaEmerge played a new song, "MindReader" at SXSW. Not the best quality, and if anyone can make out all the lyrics, I'll edit them into this post.

continuing the Butchstravaganza...

here's an interview about his new project...

Andy Mrotek is one busy person; he’s the drummer for Illinois alternative group The Academy Is…, a part-time artist, selling his masterpieces on the Butcher Prints web store, and now, blazing his own trail, he’s got a new side project, The Animal Upstairs. Recently debuting his new sound, he’s released three demo’s on Tumblr, and we managed have a chat with him about his music and his art.

Let’s start it off: who are you and what do you do? Music-related? Art-related?
I am Andy Mrotek. I play drums in the Academy Is… in which I am referred to as “the Butcher”. As far as Art goes, I’m a freelance artist/designer for SJC drums. My woodburning works have been featured in the last 2 NAMM conventions, and I’m already working on the kit for this year. Go for gold!

Tickets!

Some things have come up, and I'm not going to be able to go to one of my AP dates.
It's Friday, April 9th at Station 4 in Minneapolis.
It's a sold out show, and I have two tickets. I'm selling them for $18 each, which is what I paid with service charges.
The tickets are will-call, so I'll have to call the venue and get the name changed to pick them up.
Let me know if you're interested, please!

The Young Veins Interview: SXSW 2010

In 2009, Ryan Ross and Jon Walker parted ways with Panic! At the Disco and formed their new band, the Young Veins. The pair's departure from their former band turned into a 'Vacation.' A retro-fused, rock album titled 'Take a Vacation,' expected to be out later this year. Spinner caught up with the band on their way to perform at SXSW 2010.

LiveJournal Major Notes: Global navigation, Mobile, Bug fixes

We're going to keep this short and sweet (Frank and birthday vgifts will be back next week). You've probably seen the updates to our main menu. Don't be alarmed. You'll find everything you need, just in slightly shifted format. Just so you know, we based these changes on input from both experienced and new users who were not familiar with LiveJournal. Our goal was to reduce barriers to usability and make LiveJournal more accessible and easy to navigate. Please note that this is a work in progress. We welcome your detailed suggestions in [info]feedback. We thank you, in advance, for helping us improve your LiveJournal experience.

We've updated the global navigation menu:

Here's a quick breakdown of what you'll find where:
  • Scrapbook can now be found under Profile (thanks for your feedback, btw), along with Settings, Stats, and Edit Profile.
  • You'll find all the tools you need to post and update entries under Journal, which includes posting and editing entries, managing comments and tags, and customizing your journal's style.
  • Friends contains all of your friend settings, from filtering your Friends page to adding, removing, and finding new and existing friends on LiveJournal.
  • Under Communities, you'll find links to manage your communities, accept community invites, and create new communities.
  • Explore includes search features, RSS feeds, Question of the Day, and FRNK radio.
  • Under Shop, you'll find links to upgrade or give a paid account, buy virtual gifts, purchase LiveJournal merchandise (like T-shirts), and view your payment history.

LiveJournal Mobile update:

We've enhanced LiveJournal's mobile site to improve usability and load times. We've made more of LiveJournal's features accessible via mobile, including posting comments, uploading photos, reading and commenting on friends' posts, finding and messaging friends, and more. We look forward to reviewing your feedback and recommendations for future improvements.

Other important changes:

  • You can lock comments to prevent further commenting on a post, while leaving existing comments visible.
  • We replaced the "Tell a friend" link with a new "Share This" widget that lets you share LiveJournal posts on other social media sites, including Facebook, Digg, Twitter, etc.
  • We changed some of the icons on entries (you can hover over the icons to view descriptions).
  • You'll see a Tag count on your Tag management page.
  • You'll now see the 10 most recent vgifts on your profile page. To remove vgifts, left-click on the vgift and choose whether you want to remove the vgift from your profile or delete it entirely.
  • We've added options to help you control receipt of vgifts, which you'll find in My Stuff under Edit Profile. You can now enable vgifts from friends or everyone and disable anonymous vgifts.

We've got your fix:

  • UPDATE: Rolling several updates into one listing here -- 1) Scrapbook should be back and working again. 2) The problem with the Update Journal page in IE6 and IE7 should be fixed now. 3) The problem with the userpic add-on package pricing has been fixed and refunds issued to anyone who was overcharged while the erroneous prices were in place.
  • Non-conforming images will now be automatically resized for custom mood themes.
  • Line breaks no longer count as two characters against your entry's character limit.
  • We fixed a bug on the Manage Tags page so you can clear all tags and add new tags.
  • We corrected the UI for the update.bml page so it displays properly in IE8.
Thanks again for joining us. Frank and company will be back next week!
